Kyle Allen (vs ATL)
This play could easily backfire on me this week, but I am going to with full
steam ahead with Kyle Allen this week against the Atlanta Falcons. The only reason
that I have some pause with this call is the Falcon team I watched last week
seemed to be back to normal form, but who knows if this trend will continue so
I am going to ride the numbers and play Allen in this solid matchup. In the
last 5 games, the Falcons are allowing 28.2 fantasy points per game ranking
them easily in the top 5 in the league. As if that number wasn’t high enough, I
believe it to be a little inflated with the Drew Brees performance last week,
so I think this defense is even worse than the numbers say. Kyle Allen has only
shown improvement this season and with Cam Newton done for the season and
probably done with the Panthers I think his confidence is only going to continue
to build. Allen’s passing air yards per game have only increased with per game performances
of 215, 278, 176, 303, 326, 399, 358. As you know I am a huge air yards nerd
and my calls with air yards have only shown success (Preston Williams, Mike
Evans, Zach Pascal, Devante Parker). In a week with multiple starting quarterbacks
on a bye and a couple other streaming options look to Kyle Allen to go for 300
yards and 2 touchdowns in this plus matchup at home.
Josh Jacobs (vs CIN)
Death, Taxes, and the workhorse Josh Jacobs are the only things guaranteed in
life and when a low end RB1 gets a very solid matchup then you make him your
start of the week. On the season, the Bengals are allowing 24.1 fantasy points
per game to opposing running backs and are in full tank mode, but I will not
say for who. Lamar Jackson ran all over this week defense last week and didn’t even
play the 4th quarter, probably because they felt bad, but with tying
up first place in the division on the line the Raiders are going to ride who
got them there and give Jacobs a ton of work in this game. There isn’t much
numbers and analysis that I have going into this play, but something tells me a
150+ all purpose yards and a score game is coming this week for the unexpected
rookie of the year.
Marquise Brown (vs
HOU)
When given an opportunity, Hollywood has produced this year and he has
produced at an even greater rate in positive matchups and lucky for him he gets
another solid plus matchup this week against the weak Texans secondary. The Texans
are admittedly showing that their secondary is weak for they are going out and
trading for/signing all the washed-up bust cornerbacks taken in the past couple
drafts, hence Hollywood Brown is going to torch them this week. In the last 5 games, the Texans secondary has
allowing 41.9 fantasy points per game to the wide receiver position, yes you
heard that right. They have been getting absolutely torched and now they get to
play a speedy downfield wide receiver who is the WR1 for his team. If this description
sounds familiar think back to a couple weeks ago when the small, speedy, burner
receiver Tyreek Hill played this defense and went for 5-80-2. As mentioned
before, Hollywood has thrived against extremely positive matchups like the
Cardinals, Dolphins, and the Bengals. In those matchups he went for 30.7, 16.6,
and 18 fantasy points. This is a huge game for both teams, and another prove it
game for Lamar Jackson’s Heisman race so for those reasons, Hollywood is a sure-fire
lock for a top 12 weekly receiver this week.
Jared Cook (vs TB)
I think it is safe to say the Drew Brees knows who he can trust in the passing
game for this offense and that is Michael Thomas and Jared Cook, and in a must
win game Brees is going to ride the safe options. In Cooks first game back last
week he saw 10 targets and looked fully healthy and now he gets a very nice matchup
against this gross Buccaneers secondary. In the last 5 games the Buccaneers are
allowing 17 fantasy points to the tight end position and allowed a total of
14.1 fantasy points to Cook a couple weeks back with Teddy Bridgewater under
center. There is a lot of hurting going on in terms of filling in the tight end
position so I think the Brees and Cook combo is going to thrive this week and
you should have extreme confidence in Cook this week.
