DROP’EM List

Welcome to the DUMPster

It’s that time of the year. For most leagues, there is 2 weeks left in the regular season, and it’s coming down to the wire. You are either making a final push for the playoffs, or loading up to make a run at a championship. So it’s time to take a look at your roster. Forget where you drafted them, really take a deep look. It’s time to cut the winter fat. Here’s who you should cut ties with this week.

David Johnson – I know you drafted him high. I know he was a top 10 RB through the first 6 weeks of the season. I know how good he was before. But here’s the situation, either he’s not healthy, or he’s not happy, but either way you need to let him go. He was listed as healthy last week and didn’t have a single touch. NOT ONE! Kenyon Drake has out snapped him since coming to the team, and has outscored him in fantasy. It’s time to let it go.

Ty Johnson – I know you spent a lot of FAAB money on him, or used that number 1 waiver pickup. I know he looked good in his first outing. This is now an offense where its leading rusher is Jeff Driskel. Scarborough had 14 carries and a TD last week, and is the lead back in this offense. Johnson just didn’t take the hold of the opportunity, and he’s lost it now. Let him go, and try to get someone in that roster spot who can make a difference.

AJ Green – Look I know you’ve held on to him for this long, with the hope and the prayer that he steps onto the field to show you how good he can be. I’m a Bengals fan, and I’m telling you it will not happen. AJ is likely done for the year, and its also likely his time is up in Cincinnati. Even if he does comeback, he’s on one of the worst offenses in football, with a backup rookie QB at the help, on a 0 win team. There is no hope, there is no upside, and there is no longer room for AJ Green on your roster.

OJ Howard – If you have watched any sort of football in your life, you know that there are freak athletes on that field every Sunday. You also know that sometimes those freak athletes just don’t have what it takes. OJ Howard had all the hype going into the season. High flying Bruce Arians offense. He was benchedon Sunday and Cameron Brate had 14 targets. His time is up on your roster, and he is a candidate to be cut from his team in the spring.

Any Player on IR – This may go without saying, but any player on IR should be dropped at this point. For most players, if they are eligible to come back, take two weeks of practice before they are promoted to the active roster. This means if they haven’tbeen activated yet, they probably won’t come back in time to help you.
